The Nomad Glamping Desert Camp
There are many Desert camps to choose from; probably most people's selection is based on a combination of Price and the review score.
The biggest mistake to make is to think that the highest price is going to be the best. This is most certainly not the case as some of the most expensive camps are only marginally in the desert and suffer greatly from Light Pollution.
What Camp to Choose ?
Everyone must be dreaming of looking up at night and seeing countless trillions of stars and taking in the ambience and the sound of silence.
And then you look up and you see the sky is polluted from the nearby lights. Yeah the food might be good but did you really just come for the food?
Of course not, so it is important to choose a camp that is around 30 Km or more into the Desert. But there is no need to go too far. Another expensive camp is a long way into the desert and it is easy to get stuck when climbing the dune or on the sandy track to the camp.
Hopefully we have expelled the notion that the most expensive camps are the Best. They are not. So now you should be looking for a camp around 30 Km into the Desert. Now do you want a camp that might offer a bunch of activities? This tends to mean one of the bigger camps. Certainly do not choose one that offers Quad Bike hire or be in a camp anywhere near a camp that does offer this and the issue with the bigger camps is that a noisy group of Russians or Brits might arrive.

Most people as well as dreaming of the beautiful night sky will want to ride a camel so you must certainly check that any camp you chose can facilitate this.
Getting to the Nomad Glamping Desert Camp
- You need a 4WD car (note a small one like a Duster or a Rav 4 or a Mitsubishi ASX is OK) and you need to know how to enter GPS coordinates into your Phone.
- Go to the workshop at 22.456768, 58.804436 to deflate your tyres to 15 PSI. Tell the mechanic you are with Nomad Tours and there will be no charge (You can do this yourself if you have a tyre pressure gauge)
- Enter the desert at GPS point 23.399798, 58.832024
- Enter the GPS points of the camp 22.196780, 58.830846
- You will now drive 24 Kms to the camp. At 22.217054 , 58.831640 you will pass the Safari camp
- For your return journey enter the start point 23.399798,58.832024
- Go to 22.456768, 58.804436 to re-inflate your tyres
