1. Snake Canyon

Snake Canyon is part of the great Wadi Bani Awf Region, it’s Omani’s largest nature water park. The journey goes through the cracks between two mountains where gushing water has cut right through, leaving behind smooth colorful rocks with plenty of water pools. Snake Canyon isn’t truly physically demanding but surely does require one to be adventure as jumping in and out of water pools is a must during this trip. Canyon can be as wide as 30 feet and narrow 6 feet at some parts, and it takes roughly 4 to 5 hours to get through it.
Camping Location: Wadi.

Difficulty level – Easy to medium.
Danger level – Low to medium risk.
Requirements – Confident swimming.
Attire – Comfortable clothes, sports shoes or boots and waterproof bag.
Tour includes – Necessary technical descent rope used for abseiling and jumping into water pools, plus transportation, 2 meals, soft drinks, and camping gear.

2. Wadi Hawer

Located in Wadi Bani Khalid. This impressive Wadi is less frequented by visitors and it’s approximately a 3-hour drive from Muscat. What will amaze you the most is its down steam counterpart and boasts stubbing waterfall along with vast and vibrant blue pools of freshwater. The total journey time to reach the end of this Wadi is 4 to 5 hours as we make our way over big boulders. We will be swimming through large bodies of water and sliding down natural waterslides. This adventure is considered easy to moderate but requires good physical fitness level and endurance.
Camping Location: Desert.

Danger level – Low to medium risk.
Requirements – Confident swimming.

3. Wadi Shab

Located in Al Sharqiyah Region. Wadi Shab is one of Omani’s most popular wadis. It’s only 1 hour and 40-minutes-drive from Muscat. It’s considered one of the most beautiful wadis in Oman, with its vertical cliffs, emerald palms, and turquoise pools. Amid steep, snow-white cliffs dotted with crevices and caves, the turquoise stream ripples over several waterfalls and provides vital water to settlements and orchards all year round. 3 km journey of trekking, swimming, and magnificent cave pool with waterfall. It’s easy trekking passing through water and farms on the side. Anyone can do this trekking!

4. Wadi Mibam

Located in Al Sharqiyah Region. This wadi is unique with numerous farms and plantations dotting the wadi and stunning pool deep inside towards. The total adventure time to reach the end 4 to 5 hours as we make our way over abseiling 15 meters in waterfall and swimming in fresh clear pool and small trekking.
Camping Location: Beach.

5. Wadi Taab

It’s located in the Eastern Hajar Mountain at an altitude of about 500 meters along the dirt track that reaches Salmah plateau. This whole mountain is made up of limestone, which is soft stone that erodes easily, creating large caves and deep canyons. Wadi Ta’ab suffering from heat exhaustion is our biggest concern.
Inside the canyon the temperatures are not too bad because we have shade and the water to cool off in. The total adventure time to reach the end is 8 to 10 hours as we make our way over abseiling first 10 meters, then 40 meters and the last one will be 45 meters. We will be swimming in fresh clear water, afterwards, at the end of the adventure, we must hike for 1.5 km.

6. Wadi Hatt

It’s located in Hatt Village which is 2.5 hours away from Muscat. We will start hiking for only 40 minutes from the head of the Wadi until the first pool in which we will jump and swim, afterwards, we will continue the adventure with abseiling on these amazing waterfalls of 35 meters long, followed by a refreshing swim and medium trek for 1 hour to a hidden and impressive cave where you will slide to the next pool. At the end of this experience, we will climb until we reach the top of the mountain where you will enjoy a stunning view of the Wadi.
