Dolphin Watching Oman
If you were to ask me what the best thing to do in Muscat is, I would say Oman dolphin watching, Oman snorkeling tour would be my choice. Whales, dolphins, turtles, as well as a variety of game fish and tropical fish swimming among coral reefs are all present in the sea near Muscat.
Oman Dolphin Watching
The likelihood of encountering dolphins and occasionally sperm whales is very high. Snorkeling is safe even if you have terrible luck and don’t see any dolphins, as the shoreline is stunning. Every day of the year, you can go swimming in the ocean, and you almost always get to see dolphins. Sometimes they will be close to the shore, but you never really know where. Sometimes we have to go for up to an hour to discover them because they are a little harder to find. Although we cannot always promise to see them, we can promise an exhilarating boat journey.
Snorkeling Near Me
When we finally locate the dolphins, it is exciting to watch their acrobatic performances. Any Dolphin Olympic Games’ gymnastics competition would undoubtedly be won by an Omani Dolphin, I’m sure of it! It might very well be the family’s children’s favorite part of their vacation in Oman. There are several different types of dolphins in the waters around Oman, but spinner dolphins, common dolphins, and bottlenose dolphins are the ones you’re most likely to witness.

We sail to Bandar Kyran, a protected inlet, after enjoying the dolphin show. We drop the anchor here and take pleasure in snorkeling over the coral reefs. You will witness a wide variety of tropical fish, and you might even spot one or two turtles over the Reefs having a bite to eat. Almost every day of the year is suitable for snorkeling. The stunning lagoon at Bander Kyran is always tranquil enough to go snorkeling and take a dip in the sun, even when the sea is a little stormy. Free masks and snorkels are available. no fins though.
Dolphin Watching & Snorkeling
If asked the question what is the best thing to do in Muscat. I would have to say a Dolphin watching and Snorkeling trip.
The sea off Muscat is alive with wild life:- Whales, Dolphins, Turtles, all manner of Game fish and tropical fish swimming around the Coral Reefs.
There is a very good chance of seeing Dolphins and sometimes Sperm Whales. Even if you are very unlucky and do not sea Dolphins the coastline is magnificent  and the snorkeling is OK to. Â
You can swim in the sea every day of the year and almost every day you can see Dolphins. You never quite know where they will be sometimes close to shore. On other days they are a bit more elusive and we might have to travel for up to an hour to find them We cannot always guarantee to see them but we can guarantee a thrilling boat ride.
Once we do find the Dolphins it is a thrill to see their acrobatic displays. I am certain that that an Omani Dolphin would win the gymnastics at any Dolphin Olympic games ! It could well be a highlight of the holiday in Oman for the youngsters in the family.Â
There are many species of Dolphins in the seas of Oman but the ones you are most likely to see are Spinner Dolphins, Common Dolphins and Bottlenose Dolphins
You can join group tours or you can get your own group together and charter your own Yacht and go for the Day see our Yacht Charter page.Â

After being entertained by the Dolphins we cruise to a sheltered inlet called Bandar Kyran. Here we put the anchor down and enjoy Snorkeling over the coral reefs. You will see many types of tropical fish and you might even see one or two turtles grabbing a bit to eat over the Reefs
Snorkeling can be enjoyed most days of the year. Even if the sea is a bit rough, the beautiful lagoon at Bander Kyran is always calm enough to snorkel and sun bathe. Masks and snorkels are provided free of charge. But not fins.Â
